I grew up as a very tall gymnast and am ever so grateful for the body-awareness the sport taught me. I played volleyball in high school and began to develop my inner “fitness junkie” in college taking endless kickboxing, spin, and yoga classes.
I am the resident yoga fanatic and teacher, so come to me with your mobilizing needs!
When “The Walking Dead” came out, I started wondering if I could be a person who would survive the zombie apocalypse. My fitness routine had become stagnant, and I wasn’t feeling that confident. A few friends told me that I should try CrossFit because I was “hard core like that.” I was hooked after my first workout. The sport not only caters to my thirst for variety in movement, but challenged my body and mind in different ways than I had ever experienced. I also found a space that isn’t just “hard core,” but allows any single person who walks in to move and work in a way that best suits them on their fitness journey.
Passion & Motivation
It brings me joy to see individuals “get” that one movement/weight/body position that at one time seemed impossible. I love coaching movements and body positions so that everyone remains safe, but can still reach outside his/her comfort zone. Its also a beautiful thing to coach a class with individuals who empower and inspire each other to be the best versions of themselves.
